James Simrell is the head instructor at Scranton Jiu-Jitsu in Scranton, PA, and a highly respected figure in the martial arts community. Beyond his work on the mat, James actively contributes to the community through partnerships with the District Attorney’s Office and the Pennsylvania State Police, as well as mentoring students at Scranton Intermediate Schools by teaching them Mixed Martial Arts.

His coaching extends across multiple disciplines and organizations. He serves as one of the head coaches at Legendary Jab Club Boxing Team in Easton, PA, as the MMA coach for the Dunmore Bucks Football Team, and oversees the MMA program for Palmerton Jiu-Jitsu at Mountain Karate in Palmerton, PA.

James holds several key leadership roles, including Pennsylvania & Connecticut State Representative for the United States Muay Thai Association and Pennsylvania State Representative for the All-American SAMBO Federation.

His martial arts credentials are equally distinguished. James is a Second-Degree Black Belt in Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Master Marcio Stambowsky, a recognized Master of Combat Sambo under the late Master Alex Barakov, and has achieved the Black Kruang and Kru level in Muay Thai from Maisonet's Muay Thai Training Camp. In addition, he is a certified USA Boxing coach.

With decades of dedication to martial arts, coaching, and community engagement, James Simrell brings invaluable expertise and leadership to the Executive Board of the Federation.
